Radon and cigarette smoking: perceptions of this synergistic health risk
Article Abstract:
This study compares two methods of assessing the perception of synergistic health risks related to cigarette smoking and radon exposure. Results indicate that scales based on relative risk judgements were more effective in measuring synergistic risk perception when compared to traditional scales with fewer response options.

Conscientiousness, perceived risk, and risk-reduction behaviors: a preliminary study
Article Abstract:
This article examines the relationship between perceptions of health risks associated with radon and smoking and household smoking behavior. Results indicate that contentiousness and high levels of risk perception were related to stricter household smoking rules, fewer cigarettes smoked indoors, and a reduction of smoking in men.
