Practitioner review: Stress intervention for parents of children with intellectual disabilities
Article Abstract:
A selective review of interventions designed to reduce stress in parents of children with intellectual disabilities, with a focus on group intervention suggests that standard service models probably help to reduce parental stress. The evidence base for psychological intervention to remediate stress in the parents is considered.

A new measure of children's optimism and pessimism: The youth life orientation test
Article Abstract:
The youth life orientation test (YLOT) a sixteen-item self-report measure of children's optimism and pessimism that is based upon the life Orientation Test-revised is discussed. Results revealed that reliability and validity of the YLOT is found with 204 3rd-6th graders.
