Protecting the intentions of women in domestic violence shelters to return to partners: does forgiveness play a role?
Article Abstract:
The role of forgiveness in women's intentions to return to their partners from a domestic violence shelter is studied using a sample of women residing in both urban and rural shelters. The study shows that forgiveness was found to predict intention to return to partner and suggests that the degree to which women are willing to 'move on' from the abuse and to let go of their anger toward their partners may play a significant role in their intention to remain in a relationship with their partners.

A second failure to replicate the Gottman et al. (1995) typology of men who abuse intimate partnersaand possible reasons why
Article Abstract:
A study attempting to replicate Gottman et al.'s (1995) study in the United States that classifies partner assaultive men into two distinct groups, namely heart rate (HR) decelerators (Type 1 batterers) and HR accelerators (Type 2 batterers) is presented. The results indicate no significant differences between Type 1 and Type 2 batterers on the antisocial spectrum of behaviors.

Marital violence, co-parenting, and family-level processes in relation to children's adjustment
Article Abstract:
The relations between marital violence, co-parenting, and family-level processes and children's adjustment in community-based sample of marital violence are examined using a multimethod approach. The results indicate that hostile-withdrawn co-parenting mediated the relations between marital violence and children's anxiety and depression.
