School outcomes of sexual minority youth in the United States: evidence from a national study
Article Abstract:
School outcomes of same-sex attracted youth are considered within the framework of the social, teacher, family and peer domains. It has been possible to show the connections between adolescent relational domains and negative school attitudes, trouble in school and GPA.

Suicide and gay/lesbian/bisexual youth: implications for clinicians
Article Abstract:
Research into suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual and questioning adolescents is presented. A model has been developed to give mental health practitioners specific information on individual, micro and macro risk factors for these young people.

The challenges to the physical and emotional health of young lesbians and gay men in the UK are considered. It may be necessary to undertake a range of complementary actions to fight homophobia in schools.
