Lewis R. Woldberg, M.D.: 'hypnosis and psychoanalytic therapy (hypnoanalysis)'
Article Abstract:
Dr. Lewis R. Woldberg indicated the need for simplified but effective psychotherapeutic techniques in his book entitled 'Hypnosis and Psychotherapy' which was published in 1947. Woldberg observed that hypnoanalysis can be utilized to enhance the emotionality of patients during the process of psychological assessment. Furthermore, he also advocated techniques which are now utilized in behavior therapy such as ventilation, reassurance, guidance, persuasion and desensitization.

Cognitive behavior therapy
Article Abstract:
Effective treatment and assessment of patients with anxiety disorders should focus on the manifested symptoms rather than on the disorder. This approach is validated by evidence confirming that patients with such disorders are also suffering from additional comorbid psychiatric disorders. This approach takes into account the patient's entire psychopathology so that the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral psychotherapeutic interventions will be enhanced.
