The DSM-IV construct of cocaine dependence in a treatment sample of black, Mexican American, and white men
Article Abstract:
The unidimensional model of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) construct of cocaine dependence is applicable to black, white and Mexican American men undergoing a substance abuse treatment. The indicator representing health problems by cocaine use fails to be useful for diagnosing cocaine dependence. The assessment instruments to assess DSM-IV is applicable to men in all three ethnic groups.

The construct validity of the Category Test: is it a measure of reasoning or intelligence?
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to determine whether the Category Test is a measure of abstract reasoning or general intellectual skills. Results show that the Category Test is measure of an abstract reasoning construct different from other measures of intelligence. The study also supports existing theories that the Category Test is not a unitary measure of abstract reasoning but a measure of various reasoning processes.

Examining the construct validity of the Eating Disorder Inventory
Article Abstract:
An examination of the construct validity of the Eating Disorder Inventory (EDI) is conducted in three samples. The examination shows that there are strong associations between depression and several EDI scale scores in the treatment study sample (n=50).
