The clinical utility of the Rorschach: unfulfilled promises and an uncertain future
Article Abstract:
The Rorschach is commonly used in psychological assessments, but it is unclear that it is useful. There is a lack of empirical support for the Rorschach, and its practical utility as a clinical tool has yet to be demonstrated, though it may be useful in some basic research. The data that are available do not reach standards needed to psychological measures in professional, ethical, scientific and rational terms. There is also a lack of data on the ways that the test is used in clinical practice, and whether this follows the way it is employed in research.

The incremental validity of psychological testing and assessment: conceptual, methodological, and statistical issues
Article Abstract:
The applicable research designs, which involve those to access the incremental validity of test instruments, of test-informed clinical inferences, and of newly developed measures, are examined in order to evaluate incremental validity. The steps to build a cumulative research base concerning incremental validity and the challenges associated with applying nomothetic findings to individual clinical case are suggested.
