The selectivity of inclusion and exclusion criteria in bulimia nervosa treatment studies
Article Abstract:
A study designed to examine the selectivity of inclusion and exclusion criteria used in bulimia nervosa research is presented. It is shown that, out of 51 case records, some patients would have been excluded because of their age, weight or because of comorbid abuse problems. It is suggested that some difficult-to-treat patients may be deliberately excluded from controlled treatment trials, which may only select patients who have a good chance of recovery.

Reducing risk factors
Article Abstract:
A survey of over 75 studies about preventing negative body image and eating disorders shows only 10 meeting criteria as high quality evaluation. Eating disorder research needs to emphasize comparative evaluation of prevention programs to stimulate further investigation.
