The sexual experience of women diagnosed with anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa
Article Abstract:
Women with bulimia nervosa engage more frequently in sexual intercourse than women suffering from anorexia nervosa. The level of restriction of caloric consumption is inversely related to the experience of masturbation and sexual satisfaction, especially for anorexic women. However, bulimic women's sexual interest is greater and the age of first coitus is lower than anorexics. Anorexic women tend to refrain from sexual activity, indulge in excessive exercise, and limit their food intake. Bulimic women usually are both anxious and interested in sexual activity.

Clinical correlates of anorexia nervosa subtypes
Article Abstract:
The two diagnostic anorexia nervosa subtypes, restricting anorexics, and purging anorexics, exhibit similarity in age at intake, age at first diet and body mass index at intake. Restricting anorexics are compared with binge/purging subjects in terms of impulsivity, symptom presentation/history and associated attitudes. The two subtypes show similarity in age at beginning of menses, in age at the initiation of sexual activity, and in satisfaction with sexual activity levels. The two types do not differ regarding eating disorders personality test scores.

A comparison of ever-married and never-married women with anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa
Article Abstract:
Eating disorders among ever-married and never-married women are comparatively examined to determine variances in clinical traits and disordered eating practices. In this study, 314 women ranging from 20 to 45 yrs are assessed. Results show that, compared with single women, ever-married women are characterized by an early onset of menstruation and earlier experiences in sexual intercourse.
