The validation of a self-report measure of posttraumatic stress disorder: The posttraumatic diagnostic scale

Article Abstract:

Many measures have been introduced to help diagnose post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The psychometric factors of the Posttraumatic Diagnostic Scale (PTDS), a self-report instrument, assessing all diagnostic criteria for PTSD, are examined. This was based on available clinical interviews often used to validate self-report inventories. The PTDS showed high internal consistency and test-retest reliability, and was in high diagnostic agreement with the Structured Clinical Interview.
