Personality features differentiate late adolescent females and males with chronic bulimic symptoms
Article Abstract:
A new study examines the gender differences in bulimia-related personality variables among older teenagers with chronic bulimic symptoms. It is shown that females with chronic bulimic symptoms report more need for thinness compared to normal females, while males with chronic bulimic symptoms are less trustful and more perfectionist than their cohorts.

Three studies on the factorial distinctiveness of binge eating and bulimic symptoms among nonclinical men and women
Article Abstract:
It has been suggested that binge eating disorder is similar to, but distinct from, bulimia nervosa, but there is an overlap in the area of binge eating. A new study tests the theory and assesses the eating habits of 2,015 young men and women to discover whether binge eating and bulimic symptoms are separable. It is shown that binge eating and bulimia are factorially inseparable in young women, although they may be distinct symptoms among young men.

First- and second-order factor structure of five subscales of the eating disorders inventory
Article Abstract:
The factor structure of five subscales of the Eating Disorders Inventory (EDI) was investigated. The study contributes to the extant body of knowledge by examining test's first-order factor structure as well as its second-order factor structure, which comprises variables that may account for interrelations of subscales. The findings provide support for EDI's intended factor structure among nonclinical samples.
