Urban and rural differences in the relationship between substance use and violence
Article Abstract:
The relationship between substance use and violence across rural-urban and the Appalachian places of residence are examined. It was concluded that recognizing that the effect of substance use on violence perpetrated against others does not vary significantly by urban or rural residence and may be helpful for designing violence prevention programs and planning law enforcement efforts.

Incarcerated clients' perceptions of therapeutic change in substance abuse treatment: A 4-year case study
Article Abstract:
A novel view of an in-prison treatment program's transition from a residential program to therapeutic communities through client perspectives is presented. Implications including the way in which the program's interim therapeutic milieu eased the transition to a therapeutic community are discussed.
