Weight-related and shape-related self-evaluation in eating-disordered and non-eating-disordered women
Article Abstract:
Research examining ways in which bulimic women use their body weight as a criterion for their self-esteem is presented. Comparative studies involving unrestrained eaters, eating-disordered and restrained patients are described.

Accuracy in the estimation of body weight: An alternate test of the motivated-distortion hypothesis
Article Abstract:
The ability of the participants to estimate the weight of a target person as a means of distinguishing between motivated distortions and perceptual biases is examined. The observation suggests that perceptual biases do not explain inaccuracies in self-reported weight and that such inaccuracies might be the result of motivated distortions.
