Build your own cartoons
Article Abstract:
Foundation Publishing's $69.95 Comic Strip Factory is a graphics program with clip-out disks that lets a user combine bit-mapped props, scenery, and assorted parts of cartoon characters. The user picks a shade or background scene, and adds props, word balloons, and characters. Whereas the Factory tends toward fantasy figures, a supplemental disk, Comic People, Vol. 1 ($39.95), adds figures from the everyday world of work. The designers deserve high praise for drawing style and attention to detail. Both programs are easy to learn and use and users are helped by the clear manual.
