The Republic of Korea is observed as the success country in Asia with the large and vivid book industry it is very well equipped for challenges. Korea is a great playground for rights managers from around the world as, country by tradition welcomes foreign books, reading is considered a national value and virtue and excellent agents, dedicated editors and publishers with a vision are available in Korea.

The recent trends in 2004 in the South Korean book markets, the outlook for future in the market and during challenging times where changes are taking place at a rapid rate is discussed. In the adults book market, the publishers are more interested in the new titles of the bestseller authors who are confirmed by the readers in Korea.
