Barnsley, however, is now making a strong comeback as one of the country's best locations for manufacturing operations. Its central location gives it an edge over other towns because it is within easy access to key centers such as Leeds and Sheffield. Transport links are not a problem because of the proximity of Manchester International Airport and the Port of Hull. These and other advantages, together with generous incentives, have prompted many companies to establish operations in Barnsley.
