Canada is found to be the most cost competitive in nine of the 17 industry sectors investigated, including biomedical R&D, clinical trials and back office/call centers. On the macro level, Canadian labor costs are quite competitive, but it is important to note the distinctions between the kinds of labor but report provides relative labor costs across five categories, from unskilled to senior managements.

Port authorities brace for a surge in global trade

The volume of cargo handled by the around 185 port authorities in the US is set to rise from 2 billion tons a year to 6 billion tons a year by 2020. Most port authorities are likely to spend more than $1 billion a year on capital improvements.
