Disclosure of rights and obligations in homeowners associations
Article Abstract:
Membership in a homeowners' association can open property owners to shared risks, yet few members are typically aware of such liability. A survey of 110 property owners, 44 of which were homeowners' association members, found that few knew the function of their association. The survey also found that few owners understood or even read the rules of their association. The results demonstrate a need for additional educational efforts on behalf of homeowner associations.
