From grime to gleam
Article Abstract:
The Digbeth area of Birmingham, England, is the site of the 110 million pounds sterling Millennium Point building which will house the national science and technology centre. The Millennium Point building is part of an urban renewal program for Digbeth which was an industrial area in Victorian times. Some observers suggest that the renovation of Digbeth should by carefully planned to avoid unrestricted redevelopment. The demolition of inner ring road will open up the area to the rest of the city. It is anticipated that the Millennium building will encourage further investment.
