Infrastructure boom remaking the relocation landscape
Article Abstract:
The number of planned and under-construction infrastructure projects has exploded on a global scale in 1995 as countries realize that sound infrastructure is the key to economic development. By current estimates, some $1.9 trillion is expected to be spent by the year 2000 in the Asia-Pacific region for the construction of telecommunication, power plants and transportation facilities. Other countries with major projects include the US, France, Germany and Spain.

Pacific powerhouse: California's record-setting business boom
Article Abstract:
Pacific states are attracting a growing number of businesses. Leading the pack is California which lured a record 973 companies in 1997 due to its improved business climate and aggressive efforts to attract new investments. Areas in southern California enjoying a significant portion of investments are Ontario, Inland Empire and Shasta County. Business in other Pacific states including Washington and Oregon are discussed.
