Outsourcing is still the crucial issue
Article Abstract:
There is growing debate in the UK over the relative merits of firms managing their own properties or outsourcing such services. The issue is an important one given that for most firms, property costs are the biggest single expense after staff costs. However, many firms do not have a full understanding of the property services which need to be managed, and there is confusion over the differences between facilities management and property management. Although the two overlap, generally facilities management services relate to people, and property management to services which help a property function.

Crossing the East West divide
Article Abstract:
The county of Sussex is divided into East Sussex and West Sussex, with the two halves having little in common except a need to modernise their road networks. West Sussex is a prosperous region with high employment rates and is the base for a growing number of international corporations. In contrast, East Sussex has an unemployment rate of 10.3% and is one of the UK's unemployment blackspots. Both regions have capacity for growth but infrastructure improvements are needed to attract relocating companies.

Offices urgently needed to satisfy Leeds demand
