Poor relation
Article Abstract:
Property has performed worse than equities for many years in the UK in terms of overall return. Those who favour property argue that it has been negatively affected by a change in investment fashion which has led to a rise in the yield on property and a fall in the yield on equities. The strong performance of equities compared with property has also been the result of the fact that dividends have had a consistently higher growth rate than rents. There are now good prospects for an improvement in the performance of property.
