REITs revisited: growing prospects in the 1990s
Article Abstract:
Real estate investment trusts (REIT) are a steadily growing opportunity in the real estate market. REITs, which are necessarily corporations or organizations taxable as corporations, have the capacity to function as self-sufficient real estate management firms. Although this and other capacities are limited by certain tax conditions, the flexible capital structure of REITs, the transferability of REIT shares and the rising buyers' market make for viable investment opportunities.
