Real estate education and the decision process
Article Abstract:
Education for people working in the real estate industry is important, and this is illustrated by the crisis of savings and loans institutions, which points to lessons for people wishing to work in this field. Areas which should be emphasized for students include supply and demand analysis, risk assessment, and a property's credit characteristics. Students should also study the relationship between interest rates, or how much money costs, and the effect this has on the value of money.

Article Abstract:
The Commerce, Consumer, and Monetary Affairs Subcommittee examined the effect of faulty appraisals on real estate and residential loans and on mortgage purchases and mortgage-backed securities market. As a result, the Savings and Loan Bailout Bill was legislated which pushed states into adopting real estate appraisal licensing laws, subject to effective supervision.
