Statistics from Venture Economics and the National Venture Capital Association show a 32% decrease in capital fund commitments in the first quarter of 2001. Sale leaseback transactions are proposed such as the sale-leaseback of the corporate headquarters of Buffets Inc. to Caxton-Iseman Capital, Transcore Holdings, Inc., Heartland Industrial Partners, Rave Reviews Cinemas, Towne Air Freight, Inc., and Universal Technical Institute Inc.

Environmental Liability and Revenue Bond Financing
Article Abstract:
Under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, several types of parties are liabile for the cleanup of contaminated sites. In the case of Monarch Tile, Inc. v. City of Florence, however, the court held that a governmental body retaining title to secure repayment of development bonds is not liable for the cleanup of property acquired for the purpose of fostering private economic development.

Self employment taxes as a deterrent to the use of a limited liability company in real estate finance transactions
Article Abstract:
Limited liability companies are more flexible than other corporate structures except for the tax structure. These companies utilize the self employment tax structure which is narrowly focused.
