Northwest Ohio's economic development is being boosted by a resurgence of automobile industry activity. The Toledo Metropolitan Area in particular has been booming, leading the state in job growth, posting an employment growth rate of 2.4% or 6,800 new jobs in 1993. Northwest Ohio also serves two major air freight providers, includes a port that ranks as one of the top three on Lake Erie and is an intermodal hub.

West Central Ohio: auto valley
Article Abstract:
West Central Ohio offers significant potential for industrial growth. Interstate 75, known as the 'auto alley' due to the existence of several automobile component and part plants along it, runs through the middle of the region. West Central Ohio also offers several urban and rural environment sites that can offer both business and recreational opportunities within a short ride.
