Steering clear of planning cronyism
Article Abstract:
The owners of the Daily Mail newspaper have purchased Landmark which can produce detailed maps from Victorian times to the present day. These maps are particularly useful for property developers, surveyors and environmentalists. It seems unlikely the UK planning system is corrupt yet at local levels some outside influences may have affected decisions. There is some evidence of large scale improbity in the European Commission.

Property rights still reign supreme
Article Abstract:
Issues are presented concerning the ruling by Lord Hoffman over the rights to property and final judgements on planning appeals. The need for planning regulations to control development in highly populated areas is discussed.
