The Nordic nations: Viking office markets beginning to cool down
Article Abstract:
Office markets in the Nordic region are slowing down in terms of new construction and rent growth after several years of rapid growth in office space. Copenhagen is seen as the next corporate regional center in the Nordic region with its infrastructure boom, but rents are not expected to increase by leaps and bounds because of the availability of land for development. In Stockholm, however, rents have reached the $35.65-$37.88/sq ft compared to the $28.96/sq ft rate for 1997.

Tenants head for the hills as Europe's Latin markets heat up
Article Abstract:
Latin America's office space market has been undergoing unprecedented growth, buoyed by Europe's economic advancement. In fact, commercial rents in Madrid, Spain rose to as much as 20% in 1998, representing one of the highest levels achieved by the industry during the 1990s. The trend has also generated substantial declines in vacancy rate levels, particularly in the medium-sized floorplates, where rates are expected to increase by 1999.
