The UK: Europe's front-runner in the race for new business
Article Abstract:
The UK's lead in telecommunication and shared services centers and its being the most open and deregulated telecommunications market in the world has made it Europe's front runner in attracting new businesses. Another obvious advantage of the nation is the English language. In addition, UK's location makes it an ideal site for research and development (R&D) firms. Some of the firms that have established an R&D presence in UK include Microsoft, Pfizer and Cadence Design Systems. The UK's similarity with the US in banking, tax and legal systems makes it the gateway for US businesses.
