Triple crown: Ohio gallops to third straight win in U.S. business location race
Article Abstract:
Ohio again emerged as the winner in the US facility-location race in 1995, its third straight year beginning 1993. This provides solid evidence that Ohio has been dominating investments in the industrial sector. Site Selection's 1995 US facility-location survey show that Ohio accounted for 888 out of the 4,264 new facilities and expansions in 1995. It also took the number one ranking in terms of new manufacturing facilities and and new and expanded facilities per sq. mi./sq. km. Additional highlights of this survey is presented.

Incentive lures: firmly embedded in the location equation
Article Abstract:
A survey conducted by Site Selection magazine shows that 86% of development executives offer financial incentives to businesses that are interested in investing in their communities. Moreover, some 40% expect an increased role for financial incentives in corporate facility location while 52% say that the role of financial incentives will remain the same. Furthermore, 48% report that their communities require companies to pay back financial incentives if development projects fail to push through.
