U.S. economic vitality sparks surge in direct investment flows
Article Abstract:
Foreign direct investment into the United States totaled an estimated US$201 billion in 1998, versus $69.7 billion in 1997, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Tables include the Top 100 U.S. cities for foreign investments (ranked by the number of new international facilities), the Top 10 States in Landing Foreign Facilities for 1989 to Present, Top 10 States for Jobs at U.S. Subsidiaries of non-U.S. Companies in 1997; and Top 10 States for Jobs at U.S. Subsidiaries as a Percentage of Total Jobs in 1997. These and other aspects of foreign direct investments are discussed.
