Double Dutch: The referendum on the European Constitution
Article Abstract:
The June 1, 2005 referendum by which the Dutch rejected the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe and the subsequent announcement of the success of the referendum is discussed. Details of the later stalling of the broad social debate on Europe over lack of coordination between the Dutch government and parliament are presented, also analyzing the background and implications of this double Dutch process.

Accommodating the principle of supremacy of Community law to the Cypriot Legal Order - the necessity for a constitutional amendment
Article Abstract:
The accommodation of the principle of supremacy of Community law to the Cypriot legal order and its implications are discussed, and a theory that a constitutional amendment is necessary for the accommodation to be successful presented. The constitutional amendment will enable the smoother continuation and functioning of the Republic of Cyprus within the European Union (EU), following its accession to the EU.

The Constitution for Europe and the Spanish Constitutional Court
Article Abstract:
The Opinion number 1/2004 of the Spanish Constitutional Court analyzes whether there is any collision between the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe (the Constitutional Treaty) and the Spanish Constitution. This important decision of the Court, leading to vigorous legal debates, also includes some necessary relevant changes from its previous case law regarding European Union law.
