Is China an economic threat to Southeast Asia?
Article Abstract:
The data on China's investment and trade is examined to find out what impact China's economic growth and World Trade Organization (WTO) membership has on Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Results reveal that although Southeast Asia appears to have lost out to Chinese-manufactured exports in global markets, this is balanced by substantial increases in exports of components to China itself.
