A believer in permanent evolution, not revolution
Article Abstract:
Taylor Woodrow's chief executive, John Castle, plans an evolution of the company, rather than revolutionary change as undertaken by other United Kingdom construction companies. The group has moved into profit under its executive chairman, Colin Parsons, but can still improve its net returns. Castle plans to strip down construction and convert it into one operation with the different groupings brought together. The group will have completed its tidying up after a year, and the settling process will take a further year.

Keeping track of the world's biggest killers
Article Abstract:

These include cancer and arteriosclerosis. His Cruciform project brings together scientists from many different disciplines, all of whom will use basic molecular science.

Record year for takeovers and mergers
Article Abstract:
The UK is believed to have seen merger and acquisition deals in 1995 worth more than the previous record of 47.2 billion pounds sterling, achieved in 1989. Some 950 million pounds sterling will have remained in the hands of professional consultants such as lawyers and stockbrokers. Deals have been driven by industrial logic, with many companies realising that conglomerates are not the way forward.
