A house for all seasons
Article Abstract:
It is possible to use even a small greenhouse to considerable effect throughout the year. To derive maximum benefit, the greenhouse will need to be heated. For a small greenhouse, a paraffin heater will be sufficient, although an electric heater controlled by a thermostat is a simpler way to avoid frost during winter. A small greenhouse will not allow the cultivation of climbing plants, so it is best to focus on bulbs. Planting a succession of hardy and tender bulbs and tubers will provide colour and interest in the garden throughout the year.
