A new gloss on the silver market
Article Abstract:
There has been very little demand for post-second world war silver in the UK. However, this situation is likely to change in the next few years as collectors come to appreciate the innovative and high quality designs produced by silversmiths during this period. There are already indications that silver is becoming more popular, especially with the 35 to 55 age group. People tend to purchase items to use, spending between 500 pounds sterling and 800 pounds sterling on each item.

Someone you can bank on in times of trouble
Article Abstract:
The United Kingdom Banking Ombudsman was set up in 1986 and the post is held by David Thomas, with a staff of over 40 people. The service is funded by bank members of the Ombudsman scheme, who total 111, and complainants do not have to pay. The Ombudsman is independent, though complaints first have to be referred to the bank that is being complained about. Banks have to accept the decision of the Ombudsman, but customers may use the law courts if the disagree.
