A snapshot of life inside the secret world of Israel's Palestinian prisons
Article Abstract:
Photographs of inmates of Israeli prisons sent to relatives in Lebanon and Jordan give a rare insight into prison life in Israel. The prisoners, members of militia groups such as Fatah and Hizbollah, have been sentenced on a range of charges, some of which are not legal under international law. Some Hizbollah prisoners have expressed their anger by going on hunger strike, and have campaigned for the right to have photographs taken of themselves. Prisoners' families are supported by an ex-prisoners committee in Lebanon.
