Abuse and the serial offenders
Article Abstract:
A recent court ruling will allow eight children from three related families to be returned to their families after having been removed by social workers in 1990 following concerns about sexual abuse. The case highlights problems which can arise when social workers intervene hastily, and will inevitably further damage public confidence in the investigation of child sexual abuse. It is now time to change the law to ensure that both parents and children are given greater protection when child sexual abuse is suspected.

From Donovan to ... wherever
Article Abstract:
The Donovan Report, published in 1968, is characterized by its fixed notions concerning the way voluntary reform in UK industrial relations should occur, its lack of suggestions as to how the reform would operate and its support for abstentionist law. The reforms may have held back changes in management in the 1980s. The Report set standards for unions' present-day decentralised collective bargaining in the private sector despite criticisms.
