Ads don't give women what they really want
Article Abstract:
A survey into the attitudes of women to television advertisements has been carried out by the agency, J Walter Thompson. It found out that most prefer advertisements that they can identify with, but not ones that reflect too real lives. For instance, in the survey women were unimpressed with an 'erotic' Nissan Micra advertisement which was perceived as unrealistic and weird. However the Peugeot 306 advertisement was successful because the survey revealed that women identified with the female character. An advertisement for Ovaltine in which a woman struggles with her children in the rain was seen as too close to real life to be inspiring. The survey also found that while most women like to see good looking women in advertisements, they prefer them to be older and more mature.

I want to be alone
Article Abstract:
Rock music has a long history of some performers choosing a very reclusive lifestyle. Some are forced out of the limelight because of addiction to drugs or alcohol, while others find the pressure of fame and performing live too much to bear.
