Nato needs Tony Blair's leadership to defeat Milosevic
Article Abstract:
UK Prime Minister Tony Blair seems to be the only Western leader who can give Nato the authority it needs to stand up to Serb President Slobodan Milosevic. Blair has shown that he is willing to face tough political conflict, and the Labour party has committed itself to a strong defence policy. Blair must now show boldness as Nato considers how to pursue its battle with Milosevic. In particular, he needs the political will to persuade Nato to use ground troops.

KLA makes a public plea for weapons
Article Abstract:
The Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) has decided to adopt a higher profile, appealing directly to Nato for weapons, ground troops and Apache helicopters to be sent into Kosovo, Yugoslavia. The severe losses apparently being suffered by the KLA may be the reason why it has decided to shift away from its traditional secrecy. The KLA has stated that Serb paramilitaries have been raping and killing ethnic Albanians and burning down ethnic Albanian villages.
