BAAD? Wicked
Article Abstract:
The headquarters building of the Simon Jersey garment business near Accrington, England, was initially designed as a steel shed, according to architect Philip Bintliff, whose Studio BAAD practice has gained a strong reputation for an improvisatory approach to the rhythms of form and detail. Before design development was completed, it was decided that the building would be a quality-control centre, so the design had to be changed. Its most striking feature is an array of sails placed at an angle just outside the translucent end wall of the warehouse block.
