Article Abstract:

Results from the Delta trial of drugs to treat Aids indicate that two drugs are better than one at preventing death from Aids over two-three years. This is regarded as a breakthrough in the search for effective Aids treatment, being the first study with long-term follow-up in which survival rates have dramatically improved. However, there are still some doubts about combination therapy, and little is known about when drug treatment should begin and for how long it should continue.
