Check the cost of your investments
Article Abstract:
The UK financial services industry is beginning to respond to consumer pressure to make available more detailed information about the nature and cost of different financial products. The government has also played a role in this process, with legislation now requiring disclosure of the full costs of unit trusts, personal equity plans, investment trusts, life insurance and pension plans. For regular savings schemes, unit trusts and insurance company products seem to have very similar costs, while for lump sums the average unit trust scheme is more expensive than the equivalent life product.
