I was betrayed by MoD, says Briton facing execution
Article Abstract:
Peter Bleach, a small-time arms dealer and former officer in British intelligence who is on trial in Calcutta, India, charged with 'abetting the waging of war against India,' believes that he has been the victim of official treachery. He claims that an arms drop to a Hindu sect in which he was involved was a sting that went wrong. UK Ministry of Defence and Special Branch officers claim that they advised him not to go ahead with the deal, while he claims that they actively encouraged him to do so, in order to find out who the arms were for.
