Article Abstract:
Removing Afghanistan's Taliban regime by violence in response to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon may make the situation in Afghanistan worse, rather than better. It would be more advisable to seek to separate the Taliban from the terrorist cells operating in Afghanistan and to give them financial incentives to improve conditions for ordinary people.
