Dr Mario made me an addict
Article Abstract:
Computer games systems are owned by 25% of households with children. The strange sub-culture of Nintendo and Sega games created the Mario Brothers, heroes of the games. The hardware is Japanese, but the software contains American imagery as it is internationally acceptable. Adults find the weird games detached from sense, but children realise that their interaction is more important than the story. The lonely and obsessive games are part of youth culture. The UK market is worth 900 million pounds sterling.

A disease that's made in the mind
Article Abstract:
There has been a very strong increase over recent years in the number of cases of Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD), a condition which was unknown until the second half of the 20th century. People with this condition seem to be split into two or more different personalities, and each personality may not be aware of what the others are doing. The condition has been widely associated with child abuse, and this has led to an explosion in cases where 'buried' memories of abuse are recovered.

Beware: it's made art disease
Article Abstract:
Much modern art is extremely difficult to attribute to a particular artist, as it is deliberately impersonal, often using industrial techniques and materials. This means that reliable documentation of paintings is vital, as it gives them the authenticity which purchasers seek. The urge for authenticity is also related to the desire to give a painting value. For many people, a painting becomes totally valueless if it is found to not be by a particular artist.
