Sex, lies and Louise Woodward's lawyer
Article Abstract:
There are signs of considerable strain in the relationship between Louise Woodward, the British au pair accused of the murder of Matthew Eappen, and Elaine Whitfield-Sharp, one of her lawyers. Ms Whitfield-Sharp is alleged to have told police officers when she was arrested on a drink-drive charge that she had believed Woodward to be innocent but now knew that she was guilty and was finding this hard to accept. She has since denied making this statement.

Free to go home - but you're still guilty of killing the baby
Article Abstract:
British au pair Louise Woodward has seen the Supreme Judicial Court in Massachusetts uphold the conviction for the manslaughter of Matthew Eappen imposed in Nov 1997. However, she will now be free to return to the UK, having already completed the 279 day jail sentence imposed by Judge Hiller Zobel when he reduced her original murder conviction to manslaughter. Her defence team have stated that they feel that the decision is a miscarriage of justice.
