Fatal skirmish gives the lie to peace in Kosovo
Article Abstract:
Fighting is still underway in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, despite an agreement having been reached for 2,000 monitors from the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe to oversee the withdrawal of Yugoslav police and soldiers from the province. Each side blames the other for continuing the conflict. Kosovo Liberation Army officers have stated that they will respect the rights of the monitors and deal with them on the basis of military law. However, it will prove very difficult for the monitors to verify exactly what is happening.

Gruesome evidence from well of hatred
Article Abstract:
Men in black uniforms massacred 20 members of the ethnic Albanian Deliu clan in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, in Sep 1998. Umer Deliu, who survived, has lost his wife, two children, his mother, a sister-in-law, a brother and a nephew. The massacre of ethnic Albanians hiding in the woods caused international outrage, and was a key factor in encouraging Nato to threaten airstrikes against Yugoslavia. Those massacred were innocent civilians who had no involvement in military action.
