Flashes of inspiration
Article Abstract:
There is a lot of silence in a play, according to poet Rita Dove, who found it easier than she had expected to write her play 'The Darker Face of the Earth.' She believes that the use of the human body in plays reflects the use of words in poetry. She also feels that poetry plays a valuable role in highlighting complexities, allowing the reader to reflect on them. She is very attracted to music, playing the cello and the viola da gamba and singing.
