Food for thought but not fuel for a starship
Article Abstract:
Physicists at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN), near Geneva, Switzerland, have created the first atoms on earth made up entirely of 'antimatter.' Their anti-hydrogen seems to resemble ordinary hydrogen in all ways, but its constituents in fact have physical properties which exactly cancel out those of the normal atom. This means that the normal atom and the antimatter atom destroy each other in a burst of energy if they touch. The physicists believe that this discovery will allow science to move towards a completely new understanding of the reality of the universe.

Here's a God you can count on
Article Abstract:
The writings of Paul Davies, professor of natural philosophy at the University of Adelaide, Australia, have focused on the relationship between cosmology and religion. The fact that his work has gained such prominence reflects the gradual transformation of scientists into quasi-theologians during the course of the 1980s. He believes that the fact that there are laws of physics at all is evidence of design in the universe, which in turn pre-supposes God as a designer.
